Our Impact

Our impact is seen in the lives of the survivors we support. Through free, specialist services across Cheshire and Merseyside, we help people feel heard, believed, and empowered to move forward, while working to raise awareness and challenge stigma around sexual violence.

Our impact reflects both the scale, quality, and outcomes of our specialist support.

In 2024–2025, we received over 2,700 referrals across Cheshire and Merseyside and delivered more than 9,000 trauma-informed counselling sessions, alongside dedicated advocacy through our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) service.

We provide a seamless, end-to-end pathway of care, supporting survivors from initial disclosure, through the criminal justice process, and into therapeutic recovery and community-based wellbeing support. This integrated approach ensures survivors receive consistent, person-centred support tailored to their individual needs.

Our outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of this model:

99% of service users reported feeling supported

97% felt more informed and empowered to make decisions

95% felt better able to cope and build resilience

89% reported an improvement in their wellbeing.

As demand for our services continues to grow, our impact is not only measured in numbers, but in the meaningful, sustained change experienced by survivors, supporting recovery, improving wellbeing, and enabling individuals to move forward with their lives.

What our service users say

My ISVA has supported me more than I ever thought they could. If it wasn’t for RASASC I probably wouldn’t be here today. They have helped me to do coping methods and breathing and gave me the confidence to be open and honest with people. Anytime I phoned or text they were there to help me. They made me realise that I am not the guilty one. I am not a victim; I am a survivor.

Female, 36

I have felt well supported by RASASC and have found the service easily accessible and has helped me process my emotions around trauma/SA. I would highly recommend this service. It has meant so much to have a safe space to be heard over these last few months. Thank you for your patience, your insight and for helping me to process some difficulty moments and find my voice again.

Female, 30

My ISVA must be commended for their professional skills in dealing with vulnerable victims, and for their kind and sensitive approach to their role as an ISVA. I couldn’t have coped without their support and the sense they gave me of feeling heard. They advocated on my behalf and I’m so grateful for that.

Female, 60

My counsellor has helped me shift the blame and shame of my abuse to the other side and helped me breathe and feel lighter.
