Our History

In 1995, a small but determined group of women in Warrington came together with one clear mission: to offer support, safety, and hope to women who had experienced rape or sexual abuse. With nothing more than a table and a chair offered by Warrington Council, they began listening to those who had nowhere else to turn.

What started as a humble grassroots effort soon became a vital lifeline. Over the years, RASASC has grown into a trusted and essential service across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Today, we operate from nine community-based centres, supporting thousands of people every year. Our dedicated team of over 40 professionals provides counselling, advocacy, and wellbeing support to anyone affected by sexual violence, no matter their age, gender, or background.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported in rebuilding their life with dignity and hope.

For more than 30 years, we’ve been a trusted service supporting survivors of sexual abuse across Cheshire and parts of Merseyside. Every day, we empower survivors to rebuild their confidence, regain their sense of self, and move forward after trauma.

Sexual abuse can affect anyone, someone in your community, a colleague, a friend, or a family member. Many survivors live in silence for years, held back by shame, fear, or uncertainty.
